President’s Message

As President of Early Edition Toastmasters, founded in 1993, I would like to welcome you to the world wide Toastmasters organization.  Through visionary leadership and dedication Early Edition has developed into a premier club and continues to be one of the leading clubs in BC.

It is our members who work the Toastmaster Program by which our club consistently exceeds the goals set out by Toastmasters International.  Our club provides a rich, safe learning environment for those who wish to improve their communication skills.  Last year 2010-2011 EET was listed in the Top 10 Clubs in BC which is determined by Toastmasters International based on club member’s accomplishments.  When I walked through the doors at my first Toastmaster meeting, my goal was to improve my public speaking skills.   I was extremely impressed at the level of skill and professionalism at the meeting.  It quickly became apparent that Toastmasters offers so much more than improved communications skills.   Working through the Leadership Track Program, members find ample opportunities to hone their leadership abilities by performing a variety of tasks and roles.

Developing listening and critical thinking skills creates a complete interpersonal communication package for our members.  The Communication Track and the Leadership Track are not mutually exclusive.   You will learn, as our members have, that better speakers, possess enhanced communication skills and these qualities are key to effective confident leadership.
